I’ve definitely been having a hard time getting out of the house to adventure while Spencer has been in San Diego for work. I have found myself going window-shopping quite a bit. So I decided to take y’all along with me to one of my favorite places in Washington.
Actually, Poulsbo is probably my favorite place in Washington so far. There are gorgeous shops, an abundance of cute cafes, and it’s right on the water! To top it all off, the city was founded by Norwegians. Throughout the town, you can see hints of the Norwegian culture from viking sculptures and troll paintings to colorful architecture. I love walking around trying to decipher all the signs in Norwegian. I’m pretty proud to say that I’m still 50ish% fluent in the language. I can picture myself opening up my own boutique called “Blue Sky In The Morning”** with home wares, clothing, and jewelry. Plus, the advertiser inside of me loves that the town’s official hashtag is #LilNorway. It could be the greatest rapper name since Ice Cube or 50 Cent.
Lil’ Norway is one of the best places this side of the Puget Sound. I recommend visiting The Vintage Housewife, Flicka, Modern Mercantile, Red Plantation Marketplace, and of course Sluy’s Bakery. The bakery is famous for it’s Poulsbo Bread and the cinnamon rolls are to die for! You can see these Vikings Cups in all their glory below. There’s also a store called Truelux that makes their own candles and the wax doubles as lotion.
This is one of the places that I can’t wait to show my mom when she finally visits!
