Hidden Beer Garden on Fox Island

When my friend, Leanna, told me about her trip to a beer garden where the only entrance was inside of a gas station, my interest definitely piqued.

So this weekend, we packed into her car and drove to Fox Island. I’ve never been (or even heard of) Fox Island so I was already excited. We drove up to a very normal looking gas station. Nothing fancy. To be fair, it did look like a gas station that you wouldn’t mind stopping at during a road trip. But, it was still just a gas station. There were no signs of a beer garden, a bar, or any actual signage for a pub. I was skeptical, but excited.

We walked into the, again, very normal looking gas station. I saw a huge door at the back that leads to a little bar area probably the size of my bedroom. My first thoughts were “Okay, this is pretty cool. I’ve never seen a bar in a gas station.” Then I saw the deck outside and glimpses of the garden.

Welcome to ZOG’s Pub.

Just outside the bar was a massive covered deck complete with TVs that lead down to the most gorgeous back yard garden. It really was a little paradise in the back of a gas station. There were plants everywhere, a water fall, a bridge to cross over the water fall, a gazebo where a band was setting up, and fire pits for the cooler Washington nights. It was sort of breathtaking. You could tell how much work the owner’s put into the landscaping. It was the perfect spot to forget about everything and get lost in conversation.

Drinking beers (or wine) to the sound of a waterfall is the only way I want to drink now.

I hope you enjoy this post! Don’t you wish your back yard looked like this?

OH MY GOSH. That’s crazy beautiful! I need to find something like this in Houston, or else I might have to visit WA for a long time.

What a wonderful hidden discovery! I love the wire stands that hold your beer too. So the only way to learn about this place is by word of mouth? That’s amazing.
