One of the biggest decisions a bride has to make these days is whether or not to have a first look. Do you want to wait until you walk down the aisle for your soon to be husband’s reaction? Is it worth it to break the tradition of not seeing the bride in her dress? Is that really bad luck or just an old wives tale? Should we get photos out of the way, so we can get to the party quicker? It’s a lot to consider.
Lucky for me, I already did the whole “groom can’t see you in your dress before the wedding.” No bad luck here. Thank god for getting married twice!!
It was really nerve-racking waiting around all day, trying to dodge Spencer. I am really glad we decided to do a first look. I know I would’ve been a ball of stress if I had to wait until the ceremony. It gave us the opportunity to be present with one another before the chaos of the wedding began. Plus I got to see my handsome husband, who always calms my nerves.
I will admit that I greedily wanted to save Spencer’s reaction all to myself. (Well, to myself and to our photographers!!) I had been wanting to show him my dress for months now. I didn’t slip up though! I kept pictures of it hidden deep in text streams with my best friend. Spencer actually thought he saw it once! He believed I wore the dress to my bridal shower. He’s obviously not seen a ton of ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ because it was just a simple sun dress!
Sharing these wedding photos has really made me excited to blog again. Which is ironic because the reason I stopped blogging was this wedding! Don’t forget to check out my posts about our Wedding Details and Bridal Party. The photos posted there are equally as beautiful as these, thanks to our wonderful photographers. Tomorrow I will be posting pictures from our ceremony. Stay tuned!
