A weekend spent tucked away in Olympic National Park…
We spent our Friday night camping in Heart O’ The Hills. We bundled up next to the fire chatting with our friend Logan. I made up the back of Spencer’s FJ to be our “tent” with huge fluffy blankets and fairy lights. It was almost perfect; we just need to buy a small blow up mattress for the next time we camp.
The next day we went for a hike up to Lake Angeles. Wow. It was the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen. The lake was up 2,500 feet and we hiked over a distance of 3.5 miles to reach it. I moaned and groaned the whole way up. At one point, I actually believed there was no lake and we were just going to be walking up that mountain forever.
Despite my disbeliefs, we finally made it to Lake Angeles. It took our breath away. Lake Angeles is surrounded by mountains and covered in fog. It was something out of a fairy tale. It made the hike and still being sore so worth it.
